Lindores

Lindores Abbey holds a very special place in Scottish history. It was here that the first official distillation of Scotch whisky took place more than 500 years ago, paving the way for the balanced and complex whisky that Lindores Abbey Distillery produces today. Although the distillation of spirits at Lindores dates back a long time, it is a rather young distillery with modern production methods, and they are keen to experiment with long fermentation times and various distillation methods. At Lindores, they use selected bourbon, sherry, and wine casks for aging their whisky, and their standard single malt is a blend from these different casks. However, they also release single casks that have been aged exclusively in one of the cask types.
