Autentico Nativo Overproof Rum
Autentico Nativo Overproof Rum was developed in collaboration between Autentico Nativo Rum and the legendary Cuban rum master, Don Pancho Fernandez, who has over 50 years of experience in rum production. This Autentico Nativo Overproof Rum is distilled at Destilería Las Cabras in Panama, where Don Pancho is now based. The rum is also aged in Panama for 8-10 years in used American whiskey barrels. Subsequently, it is transferred to new barrels that previously contained natural cocoa extract, which imparts a unique character to the powerful rum. Autentico Nativo Overproof Rum has a distinct note of chocolate/cocoa, as well as notes of caramel, burnt sugar, and ripe fruit. In many ways, it resembles the old "Panama Red" edition or the current Companero Panama Extra. The alcohol content is on the high side, but there is also a good deal of sweetness, so the rum can overall be described as medium-sweet. This rum won gold in 2019 at the World Spirits Competition in San Francisco. 54% ABV - 70 cl.
