Bushmills
Bushmills Irish Whiskey is owned by the giant Diageo, which also owns a large number of Scottish whisky distilleries. Besides the fact that in Ireland, they spell it "whiskey" instead of "whisky," Irish whiskey also differs from Scottish whisky in that in Ireland, it is distilled 3 times instead of 2, which results in a more accessible whiskey. Furthermore, in Ireland, larger pot stills are used, and primarily raw, dry barley is used, whereas in Scotland, wet, germinating barley is dried using peat smoke in kilns. The Bushmills distillery received its license all the way back in 1608, and they produce, among others, Black Bush Irish Whiskey and Bushmills 10-year-old single malt.
