Caol Ila 12 Year Old Single Malt Whisky
Caol Ila 12 Year Old Single Islay Malt Whisky is a lightly peated whisky. Taste: fish oil and seaweed, reportedly due to the distillery's location right on Islay's coast. Pale straw, lighter and more discreet than other Islay malts. Burnt toast, malty and fruity. Clean and soft taste, which may be due to the tall stills used by the distillery. Caol Ila 12 Year Old is not matured on Islay but is immediately transported in steel tankers to the Scottish mainland after distillation, where it is poured into wooden casks and matured. Caol Ila's whisky thus barely comes into contact with Islay's sea air, unlike the island's other whisky brands, which are matured locally on the island. 43% – 70cl.

The Caol Ila distillery, founded in 1846, is located on the island of Islay and is known for the usual smoky whisky style from this region.
