Mount Gay Single Estate Series 2024 Rum is the second edition in a new annual rum series from Mount Gay. For this 2nd release of the Single Estate Series, Master Blender Trudiann Branker created a blend of rum made from the 2018 sugarcane harvest and distilled on 2 different pot stills. It is an incredibly complex blend that brings to life the complexity of St. Lucy, Barbados and the Mount Gay Estate terroir.
Mount Gay Single Estate Series rum was created using 100% sugarcane molasses grown on the Mount Gay Estate in St. Lucy, Barbados. The molasses has the characteristics of a very high sugar content (72%). It then underwent a very long fermentation period (9 days compared to our standard 4 days), which led to a secondary fermentation, giving it a distinctive taste and adding notes specific to Barbados, such as pineapple or guava, which are not usually found in Mount Gay rum.
The rum is 100% distilled on pot stills, specifically pot stills #82 and #83. The rum then matured for 5 years in ex-bourbon barrels.
Mount Gay Single Estate Series 2024 rum has a bright golden colour with scent notes of citrus, grapefruit, sweet plums, banana, almonds, sea salt and milk chocolate. The taste experience has floral notes and also offers a combination of brown sugar, oak, grapefruit and salt.
5,418 bottles of this rum have been produced, all of which are numbered. 55% - 70 cl.
