Plantation (now "Planteray") Stiggins Fancy Pineapple Original Dark was created by Alexandre Gabriel, Cellar Master of Planteray, and David Wondrich, author of the book "Imbibe!" It is a tribute to the esteemed Reverend Stiggins, whose favourite drink was "pineapple rum" in The Pickwick Papers by Charles Dickens.
Originally, this sugar cane spirit was not intended for sale, but was created to be shared among colleagues and friends at Tales of the Cocktail 2014. However, Planteray Stiggins Fancy Pineapple Original Dark became so popular that it is now available on the market. The production process for Stiggins' Fancy Plantation Pineapple is complex.
