Taste: complex, and the sugar plays well with the spices, making the rum exciting. Finish: Sweet and with caramel. Ron Abuelo Anejo Reserva Superior 7-year-old rum has won gold at several competitions - including gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2009 and double gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2010.

Ron Abuelo is a consistently medium-sweet rum series, which, however, even from its 7-year-old edition, also boasts good complexity that balances the sweetness in a pleasant way. In other words, Ron Abuelo offers good rum for your money! The distillery's showpiece is Ron Abuelo Centuria Reserva de la Familia, which was named Best New Rum at the Golden Rum Barrel Awards in October 2011 in London.
