Ron Zacapa Solera Gran Reserva

Ron Zacapa Solera Gran Reserva is a successor to the old, well-known Ron Zacapa Solera 23. The rum has a balance of delicate and unique flavour experiences, achieved through a blend of aged rums distilled using the "Sistema Solera" ageing process. 

Ron Zacapa Solera Gran Reserva is aged in selected barrels that previously contained strong American whiskey, delicate sherries, and fine Pedro Ximénez wines, making it both smooth and balanced.

The name "Solera" refers to an ageing method widely used in Jerez, where sherry is made. In the rum world, the word has no official definition but usually means that several barrels of rum of different vintages and ages are blended.

Like the old Ron Zacapa Solera 23, Ron Zacapa Solera Gran Reserva starts gently and sweetly on the nose, with aromas that include caramel, vanilla, cocoa, and toffee. It further develops to embrace sherry notes of caramelised toasted Brazilian nuts and roasted hazelnuts, rounded off by notes of toffee, banana, and dried pineapple. The first taste reveals a complex and generous richness. It begins with a depth of dried fruit and apricot, developing into spicy elements of oak, nutmeg, leather, and tobacco, accompanied by subtle notes of coffee and vanilla. All of this is elegantly balanced by a spicy hint of cinnamon and ginger. The finish is complex with notes of honeyed caramel, spicy oak, and dried fruit.

Ron Zacapa Solera Gran Reserva is best served neat, on the rocks, or in your favourite cocktail.
