SBS Venezuela 2009 Rum (Bottled for Belgium/Holland/France)
SBS Venezuela 2009 Bourbon Cask rum is part of the Single Barrel Selection series, which consists of unique single cask bottlings that are non-chill filtered and without added sweetness or color.
This very special SBS Venezuela 2009 Bourbon Cask rum is number 221 in the SBS series, and it was actually released in Belgium, the Netherlands, and France, but we had the opportunity to acquire a few bottles for an SBS rum tasting in the store.
Single Barrel Selection Venezuela 2009 is molasses-based and column-distilled in 2009. The rum has matured in classic bourbon barrels and was bottled in September 2025.
When nosing this rum, notes of vanilla, creamy caramel, dried fruit, cocoa, and honey are perceived. The taste is soft and creamy with notes of vanilla, coconut, raisins, overripe banana, cinnamon, nutmeg, and dark chocolate.
Only 318 bottles were bottled at 46% vol.

SBS stands for Single Barrel Selection, and this series of rums is produced by the Danish rum importer, 1423 ApS, who are also behind brands such as Ron Esclavo. The SBS Rum releases are generally unsweetened (without added sugar), non-chill filtered, and at a higher alcohol strength (some of the SBS rum bottlings are even bottled at cask strength).
