Black Tot Rum Finest Caribbean rum gets its name from Black Tot - the very last daily rum ration served in the British Navy on July 31, 1970. Black Tot Rum is an attempt to recreate the Navy's unique rum blend and is based on rum distillates from Jamaica, Barbados, and Guyana.

No sugar has been added, so here you get a "natural sailor's rum." Black Tot Rum has notes of pineapple, melon, coconut, crème brûlée, and espresso, among others. Barbados provides the fruity notes, Guyana provides the richness, and Jamaica provides the "funky" notes.

The name Black Tot refers to Black Tot Day – or July 31, 1970 – when the British Navy finally put a stopper in the rum bottle and for the last time poured a daily 'tot' of 7 cl of strong rum (54.5%) to the navy's men. This broke with a centuries-old tradition, but the time had simply passed for being slightly drunk on the job when dealing with nuclear missiles and the like.
