Planteray Trinidad 2003 Vintage Collection Rum
Plantation Trinidad 2003 "Terraverra" is the 3rd edition in the Vintage Collection rum series from Plantation (formerly Plantation Rum, which has now changed its name).
The rum is molasses-based and fermented for 2 days before column distillation. Plantation Trinidad 2003 Vintage Collection is no less than 22 years old, and 19 of those years have been tropical aging in used bourbon barrels at Trinidad Distillers Limited, while the last 3 years of aging took place in used Ferrand cognac barrels in France. Only 40 barrels in total, and the rum is natural (without added sugar). The ester content is measured at 196 g/hL AA.
When you smell this rum, you perceive fruity, funky, and spicy notes of peach, guava, figs, pepper, beeswax, vanilla, and brine. Plantation Trinidad 2003 has a full-bodied and creamy taste with notes of Guyabano fruit, caramelized oak, spices, coconut, and dates. The finish is long and complex with baked pear, lime, cocoa, tobacco, and spices.
