SBS Guyana 1993 Rum

SBS Guyana 1993 is a single cask rum based on molasses. UDS refers to the fact that the rum was distilled on the legendary 'Enmore Wooden Column Still' when it was located at Uitvlugt Distillery in 1993.

The rum was matured in an ex-Bourbon cask and was bottled at a cask strength of 59.2% vol in August 2023. The rum is non-chill filtered and no additives have been used.

The aroma is enchanting with notes of sweet fruit that unfold beautifully. These fruity notes are accompanied by subtle hints of vanilla and a gentle scent of oak. When it comes to taste, one can experience a harmonious fusion of both fruity and spicy nuances. This complex taste experience culminates in a satisfying finish with a rich toffee flavor.

SBS stands for Single Barrel Selection, and this series of rums is produced by the Danish rum importer, 1423 ApS, who are also behind brands such as Ron Esclavo. The SBS Rum releases are generally unsweetened (without added sugar), non-chill filtered, and at a higher alcohol strength (some of the SBS rum bottlings are even bottled at cask strength).
