Barceló Onyx Imperial Rum
Compared to other Barceló variants, Barceló Onyx Imperial Rum is aged in heavily charred oak barrels for 8-10 years, and the rum is also filtered over black Onyx stones before being bottled. Aroma: oak barrel, espresso coffee, nuts, and dark chocolate. Taste/Aftertaste: vanilla, burnt oak spices, fudge, cherries, coffee, nuts, and dark chocolate. We ourselves have had the pleasure of tasting Barceló Onyx Imperial, which is very easy to enjoy "despite" the lack of added sugar. As Ingvar "Rom-Thomsen" wrote about Onyx in his article about Ron Barceló in Whisky & Rum Magazine in April 2017: "Will definitely be a hit with rum drinkers who are into authentic, unsweetened rum." 38% – 70cl.
