Ledaig 10 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
This wonderful Ledaig 10 yo Single Malt Scotch Whisky landed on our shelves when, during an "Island Hopping" whisky tasting at the Rombo store, it was the clear favorite of the evening, and actually, 1/3 of the participants bought a bottle. We rarely experience that.
Ledaig 10 Year Old is from the Isle of Mull and made at Tobermory Distillery with malt from Port Ellen Maltings on the Isle of Islay. The whisky is lightly-medium peated and aged in ex-bourbon casks, which brings the malt into focus. The balance is wonderful, and the flavor lingers in a pleasant way.
The aroma is sweet, medicinal, and floral with salty smoke, tar, and mint. The taste/aftertaste beautifully balances sweet, spicy, and medicinal notes of rich smoke, salt, white pepper, licorice, clove, and vanilla.

Tobermory is an Island whisky from The Isle of Mull. The distillery, originally named Ledaig, was founded on the island in 1798 and obtained its license for whisky production in 1823. The standard product is Tobermory 10-year-old single malt scotch whisky, which is unpeated, and a 15-year-old expression is also produced. In addition, the Ledaig whisky brand is also produced at the Tobermory distillery.
