Navy Island is a small tropical island off the coast of Port Antonio, Jamaica. In the 18th century, the island was used by the British Royal Navy (hence the name). According to local legend, Navy Island changed hands in the 1940s during a rum-fueled poker game with a Hollywood celebrity.
The rich and vibrant history of Navy Island inspired this traditional Jamaican rum brand, and Navy Strength also refers, for example, to rum bottled at exactly 57% alcohol by volume.
Navy Island Navy Strength is a fantastic rum that represents the best traditional craftsmanship has to offer. It has a deep amber color and is a high-ester rum with a very distinctive character. It is intensely aromatic with a fantastic balance of ripe fruits, bananas, and a hint of vanilla. This is a heavy, full-bodied rum with a delightful long finish that is deep and exceptionally well-balanced. Navy Island Navy Strength is undoubtedly a very satisfying rum.

Navy Island Rum is a blend of rums from the three distilleries Hampden, Worthy Park and Monymusk. Both the 40% and 57% Navy Island editions have an average Jamaican ester level and are a good introduction to the highly aromatic rum style of Jamaica, which is often made in pot stills and long-fermented. Jacco Kroon from the Netherlands is behind the Navy Island rum series.
