SBS Origin Guadeloupe Red Cane Rum
SBS Origin Guadeloupe Red Cane is a white, unaged rum based on the "Red Cane" sugarcane. The rum is made from freshly pressed sugarcane juice, which was fermented and then column-distilled in 2022. After arriving at 1423 ApS in Denmark, the white rum has not been aged. It has rested in a pallet tank to "marry," and it was released in 2023.
SBS Origin Guadeloupe Red Cane rum is part of 1423's Origin series of unaged rums, carefully selected for their powerful character and flavor profile. The series offers an opportunity to taste the unaged versions of 1423's Single Barrel Selection series of aged rums.
The rum can be enjoyed neat and also makes an excellent rum ingredient in a cocktail. When nosing SBS Origin Guadeloupe Red Cane, notes of freshly cut grass, citrus, and ripe fruits are perceived. The taste is earthy and slightly salty with notes of tart redcurrants and a warm fruity finish.

SBS stands for Single Barrel Selection, and this series of rums is produced by the Danish rum importer, 1423 ApS, who are also behind brands such as Ron Esclavo. The SBS Rum releases are generally unsweetened (without added sugar), non-chill filtered, and at a higher alcohol strength (some of the SBS rum bottlings are even bottled at cask strength).
