The Macallan Rare Cask 2023 Release is a distinctive single malt whisky created from unique oak casks that exhibit an intense sweet raisin flavour and an incredibly rich and smooth complexity. These hand-selected casks represent a rare and special discovery.
The whisky is made in collaboration with the renowned musician, Charlie Burchill from Simple Minds. Together, they discovered striking parallels between sound, aroma, taste, and colour, all intertwined through the common element of wood. The collaboration has also led to Charlie Burchill having a guitar made from the same wood that The Macallan uses in their exceptional oak casks.
The Macallan Rare Cask 2023 Release has a beautiful mahogany colour, and the aroma offers soft notes of vanilla and rich raisins, followed by a sweet fusion of fresh apple, lemon, and orange. The taste begins with an intense sweetness from raisins, gradually yielding to vanilla and dark chocolate, accompanied by layers of light citrus peel. The finish is long, rich, and velvety. 43% - 70 cl.
