Mhoba Select Reserve French Cask Rum

Mhoba Select Reserve French Cask Aged Cask Strength Rum is from South Africa, a country we don't usually see very often on the rum world map. Rombo himself met Mhoba at the UK Rum Fest in London a few years ago, and the Mhoba stand at the rum festival was definitely the stand we visited the most, as they were both very kind people and, not least, offered very exciting rum if you're into natural, powerful, non-sweet rum. We are pleased that Mhoba is now also available on the Danish market. Mhoba Select Reserve French Cask Aged Rum is a "Pure Sugarcane Rum," made from fresh sugarcane juice from the sugarcane grown on the Mhoba Sugar Estate near the small village of Malalane in South Africa. The rum is batch-distilled in pot stills that they built themselves. Mhoba Select Reserve French Cask Aged Rum has been aged for more than 2 years in charred French oak casks that previously held Cape Red wine. The rum has an aroma of fever, vanilla, and oak, and good complexity in taste with notes of vanilla, oak, and a beautiful acidity. Only 1,200 bottles, bottled at cask strength. 65% ABV - 70 cl.
